7 Places to Visit in Santa Claus, IN

The small town of Santa Claus, IN is true to its name by having Christmas be center stage all year long. Most of the people visiting here come to play at Holiday World. That is definitely one of the biggest reasons to visit this town. But while you are here, make sure to save time to visit the rest of the things this amazing town has to offer.

Holiday World & Spalshin' Safari

This theme park is a must-visit, especially during the summer months. With thrilling roller coasters, water slides, and family-friendly attractions, it’s a fantastic place for fun and adventure. From the moment you step through the gates, you’re greeted with festive cheer and themed attractions that span four distinct holidays: Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July.

Another amazing feature here is your ticket is for both Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. You can split your time between the two parks however you wish. We would spend our morning time riding the rides when it was a little cooler. Once it warmed up during the afternoon we would head to the water park to cool off.

One thing we love is free things whenever we travel. Holiday World doesn’t disappoint. They offer free parking, free unlimited soft drinks, and free sunscreen. Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari rides don’t shut down due to rain alone, but sometimes severe weather causes them to pause the fun. When the major attractions close for 90 minutes or longer, they offer a Worry-Free Weather Guarantee. This allows you another day of fun. We think that is fantastic since most places do not offer this.

Santa’s Candy Castle

Visit Santa’s Candy Castle for a magical experience for believers of all ages. This castle is another must visit place during your stay in Santa Claus. It can get really busy so don’t be surprised if there is a line to get in. But it is worth the wait.

You will find a large selection of old-fashioned & hard-to-find candy, hand-made confections, 35 flavors of cocoa, frozen hot chocolate, flavored popcorn & more.

Santa Claus Post office

Can you imagine writing a letter to Santa Claus and then having Santa respond to your letter in December? This is one of the magical things that happen at the original Santa Claus, IN post office.

You can walk inside the post office, sit down at an old school desk and write your Christmas wishes down. When you are all done with your letter, place it in the official Santa mail box. Waiting patiently until December to receive your letter can feel like forever when you visit in the summer.

What started as one man responding to children’s letters is now run by a non-profit organization, Santa’s Elves Inc. Along with the Santa Claus Museum and organized volunteers to answer all the children’s letters that flood this tiny post office during the holidays.

For those little ones that can’t make it to the Santa Claus post office, you can mail your Christmas letter to this address.
